We are excited for the opportunity to get to work with you! You should have already had contact with the faculty, research coordinator, and team that you want to work with and they should have directed you to this site. Here you will find information on the steps you need to take to start working in research at the University of Utah Orthopaedic Center.
There are just a few things we need you to do to get started:
Trainings
- Complete the following trainings via your CITI account: (you can create this account here. Make sure to associate your account with the University of Utah)
- Group 1 Biomedical Research Investigators and Key Personnel
- GCP (Good Clinical Practice, US FDA Focus)
- Complete the following training:
- HIPAA (follow this link)
*Please download and save all PDF's of your completion reports. You will need these to upload with your application*
Documents
- Please sign and/or PDF the following documents:
- University of Utah ID badge/Student ID Card front and back, if applicable
- Confidentiality and Security agreement
- CV or resume

Other Tasks
- Complete the following tasks:
- Complete online Intellectual Property Assignment Agreement
- Complete online Conflict of Interest
- Create an account with the Institutional Review Board (IRB) online portal, ERICA
- Know the following information about your research team:
- Principle Investigator Name
- Research Coordinator Name
- Project information including project type (retrospective or prospective)
- IRB # and/or the Umbrella specialty
- What accesses you will need to complete your work (EPIC, Powerchart, PACS, Research Drive, Research UBox)
Final Step!
Complete your application via REDCap
- Have all of the above PDFs, documents and information ready as you will need to upload them into the REDCap form.
- Once you have successfully completed your application, our research team will be notified and you will then shortly receive an email from your coordinator requesting that you complete the Candidate Attestation form.
- Once this is complete, your coordinator will work with our managers to finish the onboarding process and will notify you when you have been given the go ahead to start working!
